LYNN SPOOR
A Dutch Rising (And Very Pretty...) Talent

A Dutch Rising (And Very Pretty…) Talent
Painter, Amsterdam

Grlmag
Gorgeous, youthful, and fiercely vigorous in her 20s, the Dutch born Lynn Spoor has forged a formidable reputation working in fine art pencils and paints. Graduated from the University of the Arts in Utrecht where she did a developing BFA year in Fine Art, Lynn is a supporter of social causes. Her works, integrating abstraction with mystery, demonstrate high standard of drawing ability that capture every beautiful detail in every object, whether it’s the portrait of the Scottish DJ Calvin Harris or the sketch of New York-based actor and musician Ansel Elgort. Lynn’s hyper-realistic portraits has made her an emerging artist in Netherlands, but beneath those luminous colours and sensitive lines, there lies a philanthropic wit – she donates her artistic vibe to charity projects including F C Cancer Foundation and 538 for War Child.
In this style talk, we have the privilege of getting to know more about Lynn’s adoration for her loose-fitting fluffy bathrobe, her altophobia towards picking her can’t-live-without piece from Jago, Marco Grassi and more, plus how she is intrigued by the power of social media in changing the landscape of art appreciation!

My ideal working outfit looks like…
I love being comfortable at work. Depending on the weather, I love to wear simple. Denim shorts, white or black tee shirt combined with cool paint covered sneakers. And I love wearing an oversized tee, it’s really comfy when you’re working. Most of the time my clothes are covered with paints, bright colours! For a night out, I love slipping into my heels and a beautiful dress.
Heels or flats…? Which brand or style…?
I love classic sneakers from Adidas for every day missions, but also love slipping into my heels of Chanel in the evenings.
My favourite art-related blog/app is…
@avant.arte and seeing all the new updates from @theunitlondon on Instagram. Social media has enough imagery for me to scroll for hours.
The last thing I bought and loved was…
I just bought a new coat and heels, filled with beautiful warm colours for the winter. And new canvases, so new work in coming!
My personal style signifier(s)/identifier(s) is/are…
My canvases are filled with rich textures and deep colours, combined with the strength of aluminium. Most of the figures are soft and a sense of mystery. Always keep the beauty and strength.

My necessary extravagance is…
Perfume, Quality time and a lovely dinner with a good glass of wine.
Three things/products I always need to have in my purse?
My iPhone counts right? Perfume and earphones.
My ultimate beauty secret after long working hours…
My beauty secret after long working hours is… a very warm bath with lots of foam. And honestly, sleep. Oh and I love my fluffy bathrobe!
My favourite work(s) of art is/are…
Can I pick a few? I really like the work of art from Mr. Jago, Zhuang Hong-Yi, Marco Grassi and Antony Micallef… All of unique style and are really inspiring for me. There are so many great artists… it’s hard to choose!
In the art world currently I find most exciting that…
The changing landscape of how art can be appreciated. Art should be for whoever wants to experience it, not just for the privileged masses who can afford it. Also, I love the power of social media. It’s an exciting time for artists these days as you have opportunities to connect with your audience and other great artists etc.

Where are you off to next?
I am going to London!
My next art trip/travel will be…
Following this, next stop might be New York – all fingers crossed.
The most arty city is…
It is hard to pick one most arty city, especially since I believe I did not discover all of them. From the ones I know I would say London, Paris, and New York.
The perfect artworld gentlemen is…
Did not get to meet him yet! If he’s out there… I’ll find him!
