Magic App Lets You Find Your Art World Twin
Upload your selfie and find your perfect museums match instantly
Entertainment 17 Jan 2018

In addition to finding a celebrity doppelgänger or your disney princess lookalike, a recent meme proved that many of us were just as interested in finding our twin from the world of art. Thanks to a new feature on the “Google Arts & Culture” app, you can find your museum-twin without flipping dusty catalogues of old master pieces but all you need to do is upload a selfie.

The “Arts & Culture” app has long allowed users to browse works of art from over 1,000 museums around the world which was nice, but the new dimension of facial recognition is a very different story – even a bit scary. By taking a selfie in-app (uploading a previous image won’t be accepted), it analyses from their massive database of art gems around the globe to find the portrait matching your data.

Over the last few days, we have seen a whole bandwidth, from funny, pretty to spooky via social media – unfortunately, the selfie option is currently only available in certain regions and outside the US you still need to remain patient until you can see whether you look like Venus.
