Picasso was probably the king of modern art so, it seems like a no-brainer for Moschino’s Jeremy Scott to have used him as his main source of his inspiration for the brand’s latest collection.
The Moschino models emerged onto a runway through a giant gold frame, as though walking out of a painting. Each look was inspired by one of Picasso’s most famous paintings from The Harlequin to Girl Before the Mirror. There were also models dressed as guitars (Kaia Gerber) and some carrying heavy ornate frames (Cara Taylor).
The show notes stated: “muses inspire artists and artists inspire the world”, and this is something that us art girls can definitely get behind. Also celebrating Picasso’s Spanish heritage, the runway was accompanied by music from Catalin singer Rosalia, taking us back to the heat and warmth of Spain.
With its bright colours, art historical references and fun factor, this latest Moschino collection is one that we’ll be rushing to snap-up as soon as it’s available.
