One woman artist has restaged mugshots for the 27 most rebellious women in history for a new exhibition on at Leica Gallery in Los Angeles. There are so many great women in history that many are not as recognized as they should be.

Mynxii White has used that for the inspiration of her exhibition Revolt, which is on until August 6. The women in this show are standing, posing as mugshots, representing the great women from history, including Black Panther activist Angela Davis, Puerto Rican activist Lolita Lebron who staged a protest against the U.S. in 1954 and Phoolan Devi, who was a criminal who became a member of parliament in India.
It captures the zeitgeist spirit, and as Davis once said: “Radical simply means “grasping things at the root.”
