Before joining the MCA, Esparza Chong Cuy worked as associate curator at Mexican Museo Jumex, where he worked with various artists and architects, including Alexandra Bachzetsis, LANZA Atelier, N.A.A.F.I, Pedro Reyes, and Pedro & Juana.

Valerie Hillings Tapped as Director of the North Carolina Museum of Art
Valerie Hillings has been announced to be the ’s new director. Hillings succeeds Larry Wheeler, who announced he will be retiring this November after almost 25 years as the museum’s director.
She joins the museum after working for 14 years at New York’s Guggenheim Museum, where she helped organize such exhibitions as “ZERO: Countdown to Tomorrow, 1950s–60s”. Her current position is being a curator and associate director of curatorial affairs for the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, which has yet to open.
New female power for Bemis Center
The Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts in Omaha, Nebraska, has chosen Rachel Adams as its news chief curator and director of programs.
Previously working as senior curator of exhibitions with the University at Buffalo’s Art Galleries, Adams will oversee the institutions exhibition program, which involves six to nine shows a year.
