A new KAWS sculpture opens at Qatar airport 

KAWS, aka the American pop artist Brian Donnelly who honed his chops on the streets of New York, is launching an unexpected project. While in the past he has collaborated with Comme des Garcons and Nike and has designed album covers for Kanye West, his new artwork “Small Lie” is a 30-feet-tall wooden sculpture at the Hamad International Airport in Qatar. In typical KAWS style, it’s a large, cartoonish figure which will be hard to miss. To Kaws, that’s the point. “I do my work for everybody to see,” he once said. “That’s the whole point.”
