1.      Where did you do your first internship?
My first internship was at The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

2.      Did you have any mentors you learned a lot from?
I wish I had more mentors to guide me along my career path.  I believe I learned more from watching others, learning from their strengths and weaknesses and creating my own professional values.

3.      What was your first job?
I worked for the American Illustrators Gallery assisting the owner and gallery staff, handling the daily duties of gallery management. It was a great learning experience to see a female art dealer hard at work, building her business and a new collecting niche of American Illustration.

4.      Did you experience a lot of competitiveness in your career path?
I’ve been lucky to work in cooperative environments and haven’t experienced any negative competitiveness.

5.      Did you always like to work in the art world and why?
Yes, I have always worked in the art world. I’ve held positions in galleries, auction houses, art storage facilities and collection management and now I am an art advisor for both corporate and private collections.  My curiosity and quest for thought-provoking art keeps me tied to this career through the highs and lows!

6.      Do you feel the art world is undergoing lots of changes these days?
Yes, it is exciting to see so many new female curators shaking things up! We need more voices to be heard!
I have to say, Instagram has really opened up a successful marketplace for artists to show and sell their work directly to new clients.

7.      Where do you see yourself in the coming 5 years?
I’d like to focus on public art projects that advocate for social justice.

8.      Best career advice you received?
Invest in yourself.

9.      Your words of wisdom for young women?
Carpe Diem!
