All the Photos You Missed from the Venice Film Festival
All the theatres are set to screen films throughout this weekend...
Entertainment 07 Sep 2018

The 75th Venice Film Festival is in full swing and the celebrities are all across the far-flung island of Lido, where all the theatres are set to screen films throughout this weekend.
Over last weekend, however, Lady Gaga was visiting Venice for the opening of her film A Star is Born, starring alongside Bradley Cooper. She was serving up different fashion looks all week – including her red carpet look in a fluffy Valentino dress – but opted for a Marilyn Monroe look for the press conference.

But besides the obvious, Johnny Knoxville starrs in a few film about comedy legend Buster Keaton, and The Coen Brothers premiered the Ballad of Buster Scruggs, a western flick composed of five short stories starring James Franco, which is getting Oscar buzz. The film also stars actors Tim Blake Nelson, Bill Heck and Harry Melling.

There was a strong focus on horror films – whether it was Suspiria (a remake of Dario Argento’s 1970s eerie dance school of witches) starring Tilda Swinton and Dakota Johnson, where the best part was getting to meet spooky Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke at the press conference. Or the documentary on New Hollywood director of the 1970s William Friedkin, famous for directing The Exorcist.

That’s not to mention the premiere of The Mountain – a spooky horror film titled after a painting – which stars Jeff Goldblum, who plays a doctor at an eerie mental hospital in the 1950s. Wearing his trademark black-rimmed glasses, Goldblum stole the show wearing a white suit on the red carpet.
