Well, he wasn’t technically, however, a new exhibition proves otherwise.
British photographer Alistair Thain proves that he could capture artists in some of the most alluring ways. He has shot New York’s 1980s underground art scene, including the last portraits of Andy Warhol.
Who knew his first subjects were Gilbert & George? His work has come full circle and is being shown at the Hempstead May Gallery in London for a retrospective called Deeper, which runs until March 31. Here’s a few of our favorite shots below of Basquiat, Warhol and Keith Haring.
