As Instagram continues to be flooded with alien-like creatures as performance art, it’s time to look back and appreciate a slice of futurist fashion in the masterpieces of Pam Hogg.
The brilliant British designer is celebrating a retrospective in Liverpool entitled Dr. Hogg’s Divine Disorder, an exhibition of art, fashion and photography, which runs until August 26.
As the gallery explains: “From the heart of London’s post-punk movement in the 1980s, Hogg caught the attention of Clubland, with her bold, self-produced designs, but it was from her infamous Hyper Hyper Boutique in London’s Kensington High Street that presented the opportunity for her first catwalk show in 1985. Since then she has broken archetypes and boundaries.”

Popular in celebrity circles, Hogg had Debbie Harry, Siouxsie Sioux, Bjork, Kylie Minogue and Paula Yates wearing her iconic skin-tight designs.
Not bad for a London Fashion Week designer who has created iconic pieces for Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Beyonce.
