Claudia Schiffer’s family home in Tudor, as unveiled for an exclusive shoot for the AD September issue, is not only the realisation of our anglophile urban-detox dream – but also has a massive selection of top notch art on her walls.
Avid collectors, Schiffer and her husband Matthew Vaughn have amassed major works by contemporary art stars including Andreas Gursky, Damien Hirst, Roni Horn, David Hockney and Candida Höfer – to name a few.
Schiffer began strolling around galleries when living in Paris as a young model – starting to work on her future collection. And that seems to have been a brilliant choice.
“There was this Andy Warhol exhibition at the Pompidou,” she recalls, “and I remember thinking, One day, if I have enough money, I would like to buy one of those.” Of course she managed to make this dream come true and a camouflage painting now hangs in her study.
Below our 5 favourite art gems in the top model’s hideaway:
1. A pair of Ed Ruscha paintings that say marry me and yes

2. A Beau Dunn portrait of Barbie in Schiffers’ daughters room
3. A David Hockney painting in the entry hall
4. Luke Stephenson photography of an ice-cream in her son’s nursery

5. Lucian Freud’s print “Eli”
