She spent time living in Brooklyn and San Francisco before settling in Los Angeles. Sandy Kim is known for her NSFW photos, from blood-stained sheets to nudes at house parties.
Since working with fashion campaigns for DARKDRON and Iceberg, she has shot her friend Sky Ferreira for the of Playboy and more recently, portraits of skateboard legend Jason Dill, as well as model India Salvor Menuez. Ryan McGinley told Dazed that Kim is one of his favorite up-and-coming photographers, as she brings a personal, diaristic style to the lens, and offers a window onto youth love and voyeurism.
Kim counts Robert Mapplethorpe and William Eggleston as her influences.
