Artist liaison/art dealer, New York City
Sarah Hoover has kicked off her career in Larry Gagosian’s empire already years back while still in graduate school (Cultural Theory – chapeau!) at Columbia. Being undoubtedly among the art world ladies with the best style (and btw being married to one of the coolest artists: Tom Sachs), today, Sarah is mainly in charge of artist liaison and looking after (and hanging around with) some of the gallery’s most exciting artists.
Handling a wide range of tasks and lots of travels, her wardrobe ranges from exploding ponchos to the perfect Chanel cocktail dress and if you aren`t addicted to her Instagram yet, we bet you will be from day one. Especially the image captions crack us up (and her posts got even more amusing since she became mum to a gorgeous boy) and we are happy, that the flawless & tongue-in-cheek art dealer answered us a few questions:
In the art world currently I find most exciting that…

Perfect working outfit…
A mini skirt, really pretty flats with cute socks or tights, a vintage t shirt or really soft button up shirt under a sweater, and lots of pretty and completely distracting accessories. A cat eye. Some glitter and a couple of baubles. Sub a high platform or wedge for more casual work evenings.
Your everyday online art read is…
I live for the Baer Faxt but most days I read the NY Times art section, keep an eye on Artnews, and of course scroll my art accounts on social media.
Most ridiculous thing you ever bought…
I’m practical! Nothing is ridiculous if you use it and love it. I use my see through vinyl Chanel briefcase for work all the time.

Your art world muses…
I am so lucky because I live and work with so many of the most wonderful women…others I watch from afar or only read about of course but I feel fortunate to be in the midst of some of them! Yvonne Force, Jeanne Greenberg, Anne Pasternak, Barbara Gladstone, Thelma Golden are all powerful, empowered, and absolutely themselves in every way—and have found so much success in being true to themselves. Oh and by the way, they are all really, really nice and supportive. And of course Peggy Guggenheim who had such incredible vision.
