The Smithsonian Museum in Washington is the first in America to hire humanoid robots to guide you around their premises. They’ve bought a bot named Pepper and 25 replicas to peruse the grounds of the Hirshhorn Museum and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Powered by Softbank Robotics, they offer directions, answer simple questions and of course, pose for a selfie. It’s a pilot program, so let’s see what’s next in store.
