Ever wanted to sleep alongside masterpieces such as Mona Lisa and the Winged Victory of Samothrace? Well you don’t have to be Jay-Z and Beyonce to be granted private access to the Louvre. Really, that dream could become a reality for two lucky winners thanks to a competition hosted by Airbnb, in partnership with the Musée du Louvre.
The two winners will get the change to stay overnight at the Paris Museum on 30 April to celebrate 30 years of it’s iconic Pyramid. But the magic doesn’t stop there. “[The winners] will toast the Mona Lisa with a cosy Renaissance-inspired aperitif, while relaxing on a sumptuous Parisian lounge sofa, listening to the atmospheric sounds of French music on vinyl records,” a Louvre spokeswoman told The Art Newspaper. “Venus de Milo, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, will then ‘host’ an extravagant feast in a pop-up dining room. And lastly, guests will be treated to an intimate acoustic concert in Napoleon III’s lavish apartments. At the end of this very special evening, the winners will retire to their bedroom under the Pyramid for what promises to be a masterpiece of a sleepover,” she added.
