The oldest of the Kardashian clan, Kourtney, deleted an Instagram post of her in a red swimsuit just a few hours after posting. Fans were thrilled to see the unedited picture, but were perplexed to see it vanish despite their praise.
In other celebrity news, Emily in Paris star Lily Collins got married in Colorado, and we lost two icons in Sarah Harding and Michael K Williams. Plus, the internet shared their opinions on that video of Dolly Parton being interviewed by Oprah back in 2003.
With all that going on, it’s no wonder if you didn’t find time to catch up on art world news, so we’re here to fill you in.

Jeff Koons x BMW for the second time
11 years ago Jeff Koons – yes, Jeff Koons – collaborated with BMW to design a car, and he’s back again this year to create a special edition of the 8 Series Gran Coupe. Other artists have worked with BMW to create limited edition designs, including Roy Lichtenstein, Robert Rauschenberg, and Andy Warhol.
UK bank making VR exhibitions out of your statements?
To help encourage conversations about spending and saving, Lloyds Bank (in collaboration with Paula Zuccotti) has launched a feature in which your bank statement is visualised like an art gallery. The pop-up experience will be in London’s Brewer Street for three days from September 9th. We can’t imagine an exhibition we want to go to less than one that tells us how much we’ve been spending.

Halima Aden x Modanisa
Halima Aden has been named the global ambassador for Modanisa, an Instanbul-based brand, for two years. Aden quit runway modelling in 2020 because of discrimination she faced when jobs requested she take off her hijab. She swore to only take on modelling work that allowed her to show her hijab, and we’re thrilled that she’s now working with Modanisa to help bring representation to all women.
Timothée Chalamet Wows on Red Carpet, Again
Call Me By Your Name star and heartthrob Timothée Chalamet rocked a futuristic look at the Venice Film Festival last weekend, wearing a Haider Ackermann outfit embroidered with black sequins. Sitting somewhere between a suit and sweats, Chalamet has yet again shown us the future of men’s formal wear. Remember the pink suit he wore to the Paris premiere of Little Women? Drool.

That Banksy is going up for auction again
In 2018 the art world watched slack-jawed as Banksy’s ‘Girl with Balloon’ self-destructed, being shredded through its frame after being sold for £1.1 million at Sothebys. It has been announced that the remnants of the work, now called ‘Love is in the Bin’, is going back under the hammer in October and could reach prices as high as £6 million.
Art Basel to foot quarantine bill for unsuccessful galleries
Art Basel have launched a $1.6 million ‘solidarity fund’ to support exhibiting galleries at their fair who fail to meet sales expectations. They’ve also announced that they’ll be footing the bill for required hotel quarantine and testing for gallerists visiting from abroad. Art Basel director Marc Spiegler has called this “extraordinary measures for extraordinary times”.
