Damien Hirst To Take Over Entire London Gagosian Gallery
Gagosian has three gallery spaces in London, and now the biggest – on Britannia Street – is set to be taken over for a whole year by Damien Hirst. The first exhibition is being installed right now, but we’ll have to wait for the UK’s lockdown to be lifted to get a glimpse.
Desert X To Open In Coachella Valley Next Month
We love to announce IRL openings! The third Desert X is set to open March 12 in the Coachella Valley to showcase large works in the middle of the desert. Artists will include Judy Chicago, Zahrah Alghamdi and Oscar Murillo. This is one art show that is actually super safe, hurray!
Frieze Opens One Year Pop Up Space In London
After its success on London’s arty Cork Street in October, Frieze is returning for a one year pop up. The space is set to provide a flexible and collaborative environment for galleries to show ambitious projects and you can be involved too, the space is open to applications to participate in its programme!

Basquiat Expected To Break Records In Asia
A painting made by Jean-Michel Basquiat in 1982 called Warrior is going under the hammer at Christie’s Hong Kong next month and is expected to fetch at least $31 million, with many predicting the sale will break Basquiat records. The work will be auctioned on March 23.
Artsy Hosts Auction To Benefit Equal Justice Initiative
Artsy and the Equal Justice Initiative are coming together to support the initiative’s mission to end mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the US, as well as to challenge racial and economic injustice. The platform is auctioning works donated from major galleries including Salon 24 and Various Small Fires to make a difference. The sale runs until February 25.
