Hello 2021, we've been expecting you

What a year it’s been! It’s hard to believe that we are finally in 2021. While we must admit, that not much happens during that in-between time after Christmas and before the New Year, we have found some news that you might want to read up on. Fast food has been around through the ages it seems! An ancient snack bar has been discovered at Pompeii’s Regio V site. It’s pretty beautiful too, featuring hand painted frescoes, which we’re sure could serve as design inspo for our favourite fast food joints!

We sadly said goodbye to Christo earlier this year, but the artwork he produced with his partner Jean-Claude will live on forever. A new book by Taschen highlights all of the couple’s most iconic works, from wrapping the Reichstag in fabric, to the Mastaba at London’s Serpentine. You can buy the book online now.

Art girl fave Daniel Arsham has just posted a pair of customised Nike Air Jordans, with a little help from Mr Kim Jones at Dior. The eroded – of course – sneakers, were inspired by the Japanese philosophy of kintsugi, an embracing of the flawed or imperfect. The shoes were a collaboration with @philllllthy on Instagram.
