If you’re looking for the second coming of Salvador Dali, look no further. For their Utopian Fantasy Spring Summer 2018 campaign, Gucci has plucked Spanish painter Ignasi Monreal. The artist and illustrator draws on the three elements of earth, sea and sky for inspiration for his Alice in Wonderland-esque fantasies which lead us through the brand’s the new clothing line. Whether it’s Ophelia, mermaids or Snow White, the photo-realist paintings play on Renaissance artworks inspired by Hieronymus Bosch and John Everett Millais. Now that we’ve all been teased with these seemingly museum-quality works, all that needs to be unveiled are the actual clothing. Stay tuned, they’ll be unveiled later this month.
