Rothko vs Toddler: The Battle of Rotterdam
In an art-world oopsie, a child has caused “superficial” damage and left “small scratches” on a multi-million-pound Rothko painting at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. The piece, Grey, Orange on Maroon, No. 8, was on public display when the incident occurred. The museum hasn’t said who’ll be liable, but they’ve charged visitors before… so watch your step near the masterpieces, folks.
