Colin McIntosh, Cambridge’s Lexical Programme manager, said, “We only add words where we think they’ll have staying power. Internet culture is changing English, and it’s fascinating to capture in the dictionary.” Language is wild, and if none of this rings a bell, congrats: you’re blissfully off TikTok.
Taylor Does Pre-Raphaelite
Swifties, sharpen your art history pencils. Taylor’s upcoming 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, is dripping with Easter eggs, the cover by Mert & Marcus nods directly to John Everett Millais’s Ophelia (1851–52). With a track titled The Fate of Ophelia, it looks like the pop star’s diving headfirst into Pre-Raphaelite waters.
