Unveiling Gerhard Richter’s Hidden Mural: A Restoration Journey
In 1956, Gerhard Richter painted a large mural in the German Hygiene Museum in Dresden, covering over 645 square feet. However, it was painted over in 1979. Now, parts of the mural will be unveiled to the public after decades. Restorer Albrecht Körber will start revealing Richter’s work on March 9 as part of a special exhibition at the museum.
