Vandalism Strikes Banksy’s Newest London Mural

Banksy’s latest London mural, unveiled over the weekend in Finsbury Park, was defaced with white paint shortly after its discovery. The artwork featured green paint mimicking leaves on a wall behind a tree, with a stenciled figure beside it. Banksy claimed ownership on Monday, but by Wednesday, it was vandalized.

Tina Rivers Ryan Takes the Helm as Editor-in-Chief of ‘Artforum’

Censorship Controversy at Ensba: #MeToo Sections Removed from Art History Book

The École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts (Ensba) in Paris is embroiled in controversy over alleged censorship. Reports suggest that sections concerning #MeToo sexual harassment claims were removed from a book titled “Les Suffragettes de l’art: L’entrée des femmes à l’École des Beaux-Arts” by art critic Anaïd Demir. Le Quotidien de l’Art revealed that 1,500 copies of the book were reprinted this year, with the new version omitting the ” #MeToo years” and “A charter for gender equality” sections.

Francis Bacon’s George Dyer Portrait: From Gallery to Auction

Francis Bacon’s first full-scale portrait of his lover George Dyer, exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in 2022, is set for auction at Sotheby’s in New York. The painting, expected to sell for $30-50 million, marks a swift transition from museum display to the market within two years.
