“Women don’t owe you shit.” It’s true, but maybe we need a constant reminder?
That’s part of the concept behind Kidd Bell, the clothing line of artist, activist and designer Whitney Bell. All the designs are driven by slogans, whether its talking back, speaking up, speaking out and defending a woman’s rights.
Hollywood actress Stephanie Beatriz recently launched her own ‘Pride’ line with the clothing company, including the ‘Bi Till I Die’ t-shirt series.
“Bisexuality isn’t half gay/half straight, it isn’t half of anything. It is a sexual orientation all of its own,” writes Bell. “For the first time women are finally doing as they damn well please, or at least trying to, I’m designing for this new era of woman, for the girl who is sick of being slut shamed, for the teenager who thinks her school’s dress code is misogynistic bullsh*t, for the boss b*tch who isn’t ashamed of being powerful.”
