Auction Show Me The Signs has just gone up online through Artfizz to raise money for the families of Black Women killed by the police in the US. Over 100 artists have created powerful pieces in the form of protest signs to fight for change through the AAPF’s (The African American Policy Forum) #SayHerName Mothers Network.
The #SayHerName Mothers Network is a group of mothers and family members of Black women, girls and femmes killed by police. The mission of the Mothers Network is to provide support to other mothers and families who have been victimized by racist police violence and to bring about reforms in social, judicial and law enforcement practices that can ensure humane, just and empathetic change in communities across the US.
Artists included in the auction include celebs like Billie Eilisih and Cardi B (both with starting bids of just $100!), as well as Usher and Bruno Mars. And of course, there’s art world giants too like David Hockney, Marilyn Minter and Jerry Gogosian.
The auction will take place in two parts, the first beginning November 10, and the second November 21. You can also view the artwork in person at Blum and Poe Gallery in Los Angeles until November 14. It’s the perfect opportunity to grab a piece by your favourite celeb, while also supporting a very good cause!
