When fashion and fine art get together, it’s not just a collab, it’s alchemy. For Summer 2025, Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello has teamed up with the legendary Italian artist Francesco Clemente, and the results are nothing short of hypnotic.
Commissioned by Anthony Vaccarello, artist Francesco Clemente lends his poetic brush to Zoë Kravitz, Isabella Ferrari, Peneloppe Ternes, and Ajus Samuel. A nomadic painter with a mystical gaze, Clemente captures intimacy with rare softness, where memory, identity, and presence quietly meet.
Known for his dreamlike works steeped in esotericism, Clemente transforms the campaign into a surreal tableau where the human form becomes both sacred and sensual. His portraits pull together his signature symbols and spiritual undertones with Saint Laurent’s tailored edge. The result? Pure visual alchemy.
“So proud to have collaborated with the genius Francesco Clemente for the visual of Summer 25,” wrote Vaccarello. “Thank you Francesco … you are my Great Expectation.”
This isn’t Clemente’s first foray into the fashion world. In 2016, Harper’s Bazaar for their ‘beauty at every age issue’ featured a series where Clemente painted portraits of renowned supermodels, who were then photographed by Jason Schmidt. The feature included Anna Ewers, Liya Kebede, Linda Evangelista, Iman, and Christy Turlington. This collaboration transformed these fashion icons into timeless works of art.
Clemente, who has worked with Warhol, Basquiat, and Allen Ginsberg, resists easy classification. Part Neo-Expressionist, part spiritual seeker, he channels Indian mysticism, classical portraiture, and contemporary longing into haunting, intimate visuals.
