The last week was pretty unspectacular looking at art & fashion news. Yes, Jonathan Anderson confirm another collaboration with Uniqlo and Instagram officially announced the artist’s Awol Erikzu’s photograph of a glowingly pregnant Beyonce is the most ever liked gram in history with 11,2 Mio “likes”. Apart from that, everyone is busy getting ready for the year’s final major art and social meet and greet: Art Basel Miami Beach.
Here is what a real gorgeous shouldn’t miss…:
Warhol is still the king
Glam Publisher Assouline will be debuting their next coffee table read with a very exclusive dinner and after-party held at The Surf Lodge pop-up. Nestled behind the hedges of the W South Beach, there will be a Warhol Factory-themed party to celebrate the arrival of Andy Warhol: The Impossible Collection, a major new publication of Warhol’s most celebrated works, assembled by former Warhol Museum director, Eric Shiner.
AMEX seaside tent
The hotel hub for all things Miami, EDITION Miami Beach, will be hosting a quirky schedule of festivities in partnership with American Express. The credit card giant will be unveiling an installation by British stage designer Es Devlin and a lavish tent for the VIP cardholders offering beauty services, fitness classes, and a new restaurant, which will play host to a top-secret performance on December 7. Shhhh…
A night with Abby Rosen (and his wife)
The real estate tycoon and avid collector will host his yearly dinner at The Dutch. If you dream of running into Leonardo DiCaprio, chances are high, you get to spot him there. Problem will be just how to get in – expect the doors to be heavily guarded. So better be smart or on the list
A gin at the Versace mansion
Villa Casa Casuarina, the infamous Versace mansion will be the dream backdrop of Bombay Sapphire to host its 8th annual artisan series finale. Oh yes, this year, the festivities will be hosted by Issa Rae.
What else:
Oh boy, plenty! Just think of Swizz Beatz’s No Commission fair, MCM to team up with Koenig Souvenirs, Perriet-Jouets champagne garden with an installation by Luftwerk, Phil Collins Annual Gala or the highly anticipated gig by Björk.
So, there you go: While you are in the office somewhere in the snow, doing your christmas shopping and munching gingerbread with a big chai latte – there is absolutely nothing to miss in Miami. Sigh 😉
