Don’t you just love it when your favourite artists venture into something you never quite imagined? Art girl fave Mickalene Thomas has just launched a collaboration with Henzel Studio – a Swedish luxury rug company – to debut a hand-knotted rug that is super dreamy.
On show at Rossana Orlandi in Porto Cervo Italy, the rug titled Raquel Come To Me is adapted from a photo collage created especially for the project. Taking references from art history, popular culture and politics, the rug uses various techniques to make a gorgeous work of art, taking six months to make.
