London’s Saatchi Gallery is probably one of the best known gallery’s in the city, with its founder – Charles Saatchi – celebrated worldwide for his collection of contemporary art and for his early support of the Young British Artists or YBAs (including Tracey Emin and Damien Hirst). But did you know he had a daughter? Well, he does! And get this, Phoebe Saatchi Yates is about to open her own gallery in Mayfair called Saatchi Yates, a district which is also home to the likes of David Zwirner, Gagosian, Hauser & Wirth and Pace.
Keeping it in the family, Phoebe is set to run her gallery with her husband, Arthur Yates. Together their focus will be on working with emerging artists. And, we’re sure with Charles Saatchi as her Dad, it’s sure to be a massive success, not to mention super impressive.
The new gallery’s first exhibition will feature the work of Pascal Sender, a Swiss artist who has created an app in which viewers can view his work in light of a certain Covid-19. But pandemic aside, we can’t wait to see what’s in store!
The gallery will open on London’s Cork Street on October 15
