It’s Frieze week and we’ve already had some great events here in London. From our special visits to Sabine Moritz at the Pilar Corrias booth, breakfast event with Cob x Plop, and a well-needed coffee refuel in Regent’s Park – we’ve been here to make sure that you’re all well looked after during what is essentially Art World Christmas.
Other things we’ve been loving this week is watching legend Adele take to Instagram Live to give us a preview of her new single ‘Easy on Me’, and looking at memes based on Meghan Trainor’s recent reveal that her and her husband Daryl Sabara use twin toilets in their bathroom at the same time.
If you’re in London this week, make sure to find time to rest and get out of the art-bubble – burning out is the last thing we want!

AI Used to Tell Fake Rubens
Purchased by London’s National Museum in 1980, ‘Samson and Delilah’ – a work previously attributed to Peter Paul Rubens – has been proven not to be done by the Flemish master. AI technology was used on the painting, which has had its authenticity questioned by critics for a long time, and deduced that the work was 91.78% likely not to be a Rubens. Ouch.
Murder or Suicide!?
Ernst Ludwig Kirchner died in 1938 from two gun shots to the chest and it has always been accepted that he inflicted the wounds on himself. Now a new exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany showing Kirchner’s work has us wondering – could he have done it? The artist’s gun is on display but viewers have noticed that it is fitted with a safety device which would make him firing it for a second time (having already been shot) doubtful. It’s a proper murder mystery.

McQueen Back in London
Following 18 months without hitting the runway, Alexander McQueen hosted a show this week in central London. Staged on a building rooftop, the images from the catwalk are amazing, with real clouds passing by the strutting models. The front row was packed with celebs including Emilia Clarke, Vanessa Kirby, and Kosar Ali.
Megan Fox x Boohoo
Fast Fashion is bad, and Megan Fox does seem to be the loving the Bad Girl image recently, so naturally the actress has teamed up with Boohoo. Fox is releasing a 40-piece collection on the site on October 19th which includes statement monochrome items and varsity jackets.

Frieze is Back
Back IRL following 2020’s disruptions, Frieze is shaking the London art world up with 150 galleries returning to the usual Regent’s Park spot. We can’t wait to read the reports afterwards about attendance and purchases – do you think people are completely ready to re-enter pre-pandemic-style events? Let’s wait and see.
Hot Air Balloon Knocks into Italian Museum
This clip is hard to watch: a tourist-filled hot air balloon setting off and knocking into the side of the Voltiano Temple in Como. The neoclassical museum was made in 1927, and all that was injured was a stone column that fell from the roof. Phew!
