The last half of the year never fails (I mean, apart from in 2020) to provide us with glorious red carpet events with fabulous outfits. We loved the colourful suits and block-colour gowns that the A/W runways this summer had predicted. Which were your favs?
This week we’ve also been living for Kourtney Kardashian and Megan Fox’s friendship, as they took centre stage at the MTV VMAs to introduce their “future baby daddies” Machine Gun Kelly and Travis Barker. A bit much? We’re not sure.
Plus, we’re getting ready for the new Britney Spears documentary which is set to release on Netflix next week. The documentary will hear from Britney as it recounts the tale of her conservatorship and we can’t wait to hear the Pop Princess finally get to speak for herself.
As the longer nights creep in, make sure you’re taking time to look after yourself to stay happy and healthy.
Hugs,

Art Basel’s First Fair in a Year & a Half
Art Basel kicked off this week for its first fair in 18 months due to Covid restrictions. The Fair closes on the 26thand has already reported steady sales and a surprising level of interest in NFT offerings (which made their debut at the fair following their blow-up during 2020).
Vermeer Restored to Reveal Huge Cupid
Vermeer’s ‘Girl Reading a Letter at an Open Window’ has been restored to show a large background painting of Cupid. Although historians have known about the huge cherub since 1979 (following x-ray analysis of the painting), the overpainting has only now been removed to reveal the cupid figure. During the process, restorers worked out that the cover-up of the large cupid was done in the 18th Century – after Vermeer had died – suggesting that we should rethink how we interpret the piece.

London Fashion Week Highlights
London Fashion Week ran from September 16th to 21st and definitely did not disappoint. Stars of the runway included Drag Race UK’S Bimini Bon Boulash and Tayce, huge Bridgerton-inspired gowns, and underwear-as-outerwear.
Emmys Praised for Gender-Neutral Looks
The red carpet looks at the Emmys did not disappoint and The Guardian’s Priya Elan has praised this year’s event for its “gender-neutral” outfits in particular. Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Emma Corrin, Daniel Levy, Bowen Yang, and Leslie Odom Jr all stunned in outfits that shunned the typical “suits for boys ballgowns for girls” policy.

The idea has been in the works for over a decade, but has faced regular delays. The building was built using funds of over $390 million brought in by huge Hollywood institutions including Netflix and Disney.
Kahlo Self-Portrait Set To Break Records
A Frida Kahlo self-portrait “Diego and I” is set to go to auction this Autumn, with an estimated worth of $30 million. If this work goes for that price, it will break Kahlo’s personal sales records plus any Latin American artist’s record, as well as becoming one of the most expensive works by any woman artist to sell at auction, ever. Sotheby’s will be auctioning the piece before the end of the year.
