We’ve found the perfect object you didn’t know you needed! Yep, that’s right, a box for storing all your secrets, and better still, it was designed by uber-cool artist Julie Tuyet Curtiss. The collaboration – called Le Femme Secrete – with Tokyo-based Case Studyo comprises a walnut and ash wood screen printed box in the form of a faceless female.
Julie is famous for her portraits of faceless women with big hair and pointy nails, which has now been transformed into a beautiful 3-dimensional functional work of art. The box, which actually looks like a sculpture, has a secret compartment where you can hide your most precious objects. On first appearances, the secretive female stares out with a blank expression, almost judging you, resting her chin in her hand. But concealed behind her face is a hidden compartment. It basically allows the collector to share an intimate secret with a work of art. Super cool, eh?!
Released in an edition of 16, the box entices its audience to actively engage with Julie’s work; completing the puzzle it presents with their own stories.
