Barbara Kruger’s Pro-Choice Posters Appear In Poland
On November 27, the Polish government banned abortion apart from in a few limited circumstances. As a result, mass demonstrations have taken place across the country, which have prompted the spread of Barbara Kruger’s infamous Your body is a battleground poster. Now appearing in Polish, the image has a renewed meaning three decades after it was first created for the Women’s March on Washington in 1989 to protest anti-abortion laws in the US. According to Hypebeast, the TRAFO Center for Contemporary Art in Szczecin was sent prints of the poster by Kruger’s gallery in Berlin.

New Art Space Devoted To Black Artists Opens In Soho
Destinee Ross-Sutton attracted headlines earlier this year when she developed a contract for a Christie’s sale whereby every collector who bought work from the Say It Loud (I’m Black and Proud) sale had to sign a document that stated they would not flip the work. She has brought this to her new space – Ross-Sutton Gallery – which has just opened in New York’s Soho, with a show called Black Voices: Friend of My Mind. The pop up outfit will appear across the globe and we’re excited to see how this develops!
