Jerry Gogosian’s Met Gala Delegate Nominees

Yup, I am sure you have seen all the looks, and memes of this year’s Met Gala – but did you notice many of the famous art world glitterati walking up the steps? Nope….? Well neither did Hilde Lynn Helphenstein – aka @jerrygogosian, who called out for justice in the art world on her popular IG account this week, specifically regarding who gets invited to the Met Gala. Unfortunately, she didn’t attend this year due to a black eye, but she’s got plenty of suggestions for who should represent the art world at the exclusive event, including art fraudster Inigo Phillbrick… Additionally, she nominated Anna Weyant, Chloe Wise, Simone Leigh, Amy Sherald, Maurizio Cattelan, and Marlene Zwirner as future potential candidates.

Inside Benny Blanco’s Artful LA Home

In a recent Architectural Digest tour of a celebrity home, Benny Blanco, the American record producer, songwriter, and foodie, welcomed viewers into his LA abode. Boasting an impressive collection of artworks, Blanco’s home is adorned with pieces primarily sourced from his circle of artist friends, including Matt Johnson, Lola Abbey, Will Child, and even a special creation by the child of Jonas Wood.

A Trailblazing American Artist Frank Stella Has Passed Away

Renowned American painter and sculptor Frank Stella has sadly passed away at his Manhattan residence on Saturday, May 4, at the age of 87, following a battle with lymphoma. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over six decades, Stella, a giant of post-war abstract art, left an indelible mark on the North American arts scene.

New Addition of Sensory Exploration at The Met’s Sleeping Beauties Exhibition

The Met’s latest exhibition, Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, brings archival gowns to life by engaging the senses. Visitors can feel the textures of embroidery-embossed walls and hear the rustle of replica 1770s gowns. However, the most intriguing aspect is the olfactory experience orchestrated by smell artist and scientist Sissel Tolaas. Using smell molecules collected from garments in the Met’s archive, visitors can smell the scents of decaying dresses and the people who wore them through sets of clear Perspex tubes.
